Full Integration Testing
Testing a series of applications in a test or production environment to ensure that interaction between each application during normal production processing should be as expected without failure of system due to dates, currency changes or other such changes. Programs that use the same data such as those that create, modify, delete and report on a particular record type represent a good integration group, and are usually tested together. This process also ensures that external interfaces are tested at this stage of testing.

This type of testing tests each application as a separate module without any external data being fed into the application during processing. The test is to ensure that the logic and flow of data within the application produces the expected results and provides an audit trail.

In the past, the complexity and effort required to perform testing using conventional approaches and tools has made an IV&V Test Factory impractical due to cost and time factors. Web Load Testing
Web load testing is performed to anticipate the performance of your web application by simulating the workload of any real-world application or benchmark, or creating a completely artificial workload to stress the system in a number of ways. In doing so, the goal is to highlight the bottlenecks caused by any deficiencies in memory, processor speed or disk I/O of the web server, other dependent database or application servers, network bandwidth and application processing.
Prior to running web load tests, it is critical to have an in-depth understanding of the components that make up the web site and of the transaction patterns that are processed by the web applications. Parallel is experienced in determining the critical scenarios to be used as a basis for creating the workload simulations for your web site.
All testing measures the throughput performance of the system while stressing it with a controlled workload. Outputs are documented and tests are fully repeatable, allowing the effects of changing a web component to be objectively evaluated.

Disaster Recovery Testing
Most organizations rely heavily (85-90%) on computer systems. According to a survey conducted by a research company, when catastrophic data loss occurs, at least 43% of companies never re-open, and 29% close within 2 years. The effect can be devastating for businesses financially, for example, the average hourly impact of data loss on the retail brokerage business amounts to $6.45 million.
Industry experts suggest that less than 10% of companies have no solid, tested plans for recovering their computer systems in such a disaster, and yet data doubles each consecutive year.
Because of the distributed computing environment, backup processes have become more complex and require a high degree of expertise, a single backup of a computer or a few computers can no longer assure that a complete and thorough backup of data has been attained. Parallel, through its experience gained working with companies on many computer development projects, has devised a methodology referred to as Parallel Equivalency Testing (PET) for conducting thorough testing no matter how complex the system. PET is a parallel test method to prove that the recovered system works to the same level of tolerance as the production system within the time-span of a normal DR test. The entire system is run through a rigorous series of disaster recovery test scenarios to determine the effectiveness of the backup and to ensure that data can be restored to its original state prior to the disaster. This technique is to reassure management that a solid, proven procedure is in place to protect their business should such a disaster occur.
